Day 4: She'll be comin round the mountain when she comes...

Well, Day 4 was longer than the others. We spent 4 hours looking at houses, but we only looked at three. How does that work? We looked at an incredible old stone house. It was built in 1820 and was first used as a little store, then it was made into a post office and now it's a very beautiful home. The stone house was great, but there wasn't much room to grow into the house. That is a problem because someday we would like to have children. But I still have a small desire to live in the stone house.

Nothing else we saw was (weird, saw backwards is was...) exciting. We did, however, wonder out into the land of trees. In case you all did not know, Indiana, PA is the "Christmas tree capitol of the world." I am definitely NOT joking about that. There are tree farms everywhere. I have never ever seen so many evergreens that want so badly to be in someone's home this Christmas. I think the Grinch would not prevail here, unless he brought a match.

So there we were roaming through rough roads, dodging trees and off roading in a Chevy Tahoe. I thought we were going to roll over and be trapped in the middle of now where. Luckily, Patrick and our realtor were having fun and enjoying the ride. The area was gorgeous and after the off roading excursion, it was great to look at all the sights.

This very land is the area we are hoping to build on. Patrick and I have talked about it and have decided that this is our best option and in fact, our favorite. He gets land, I get a big and beautiful house. We are hoping that this works out and that things can move forward from here. Until then, we'll look at apartments and hope that at least one of them is able to accommodate to our needs.

Other than all of the house hunting, we have had a great week. We have dined at nearly every restaurant in Indiana, PA. Each one has been wonderful. There are a lot of Italian joints around here and each one has it's own taste. Last night, I had the best tiramasu at Benjamin's and then tonight, I had crab cakes that were beyond anything I could have imagined. I also tried the iced coffee from McDonald's. It was good, but a little too sweet.

Patrick and I have relaxed quite a bit and enjoyed all that the Holiday Inn has to offer...that is cable TV. I have never watched so much Discovery channel, History channel or any channel for that matter. It's a good way to unwind and forget that our house hunting trip has been unsuccessful. I must say, I don't wish to make a habit of watching TV every night. It's such a waste of precious time (but it's so fun at the same time).

Ok, we're off to get ice cream. A girl can't turn down a trip to Brewster's with her handsome ice cream loving husband, can she?
