A romantic getaway...

Last night, Patrick and I drove to Mercersburg, PA. We celebrated our anniversary there by staying in a wonderful Bed and Breakfast, which has become a tradition, and going out to dinner. This B&B was built in 1909 by a tanner and there is so much history surrounding the home, as well as the town. We toured the mansion this morning before we left, it was magnificent! There were stories for each room and pictures of the family who originally lived there.
We learned that President James Buchannon was born and raised in Mercersburg, PA. There was some Civil War action that happened in and around the town as well. A place rich in history has to be a wonderful place to visit. The main street in Mercersburg was lined with old stone homes and buildings. I was so excited to be there.

Patrick and I went out to dinner at a fabulous restaurant called Nick's. It was very good and very romantic. When we got back to the B&B we found the game room (that use to be a bowling alley...in the basement!) and played air hockey and pool until we were tired. This morning after breakfast, we drove to a near-by coffee shop and studied God's word together. It was a precious time.

How nice. I like this tradition of staying at Bed & Breakfast's. 2 down and 58 years to go. I love you both. Happy Anniversary.

Terrific!! Happy Anniversary!! I'm glad that with all of the busyiness going on in your lives right now, you were still able to get away and spend some time together.
