Since we own a tree farm, we get to chop down whatever tree we would like. I had my eye on a sweet four to five foot Colorado Blue Spruce, but to my shock they were very prickly. So, Patrick and stomped our way through some Douglas Fur trees to find one that meets our needs and requirements: Fits in the living room, not too short, not too skinny, won't hurt us, pretty (that was one of mine).
We found the winner and brought her in. Patrick trimmed a little and that was that! We put up our tree on Sunday night. With Christmas music playing, Piper sleeping (lazy dog) and Patrick and I decorating, it was a great night! Every time Patrick and I go on a vacation, we get a Christmas ornament. We've done it since our honeymoon and it's always fun to remember our trips together as we decorate our tree.
Also, a quick random fact: Patrick and I have spent four Christmas together, married, and each Christmas has been in a different house (or townhouse or apartment).
Here is the tree, in all it's glory!
