It was incredible to see things that we've only seen replicas of before. We saw the original statue of Venus, the Mona Lisa, and coronation crown of King Louis XV at the Louvre (and much more, but those are highlights). At the Orsay, we saw originals of Monet and Van Gogh, two of my favorite artists! Both museums took us about five hours to walk though. Let it been know that we didn't even touch the surface of the Louvre and would have needed at least two full days to see everything! It was so big.
We walked though the Tuileries Gardens and over Passerelle Solferino. It was a gorgeous walk and a beautiful day - minus the wind! We sat down on a bench in the park for a while and it was nice to take it all in. We were in Paris, together, enjoying each other, the city and all the other blessings of our trip. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Instead of taking the metro back to our hotel, we decided to walk. It was great to see the back roads of Paris. After walking for six hours, we got a late lunch and brought it back to our hotel to eat. After eating, we fell asleep for an hour! We must have been exhausted.
Before dinner, we walked over to the eiffle tower because it was getting dark out and we wanted to see it in all its lit up glory. We got there and just five minutes later the lights began to sparkle and flicker and it was a very magical moment, if you will. It was perfect timing!
We ate dinner on Rue Cler again and this meal proved difficult since no one there spoke English. We stumbled our way through ordering and finally got to eat. Did I mention that we loved Paris? Because we did. I never, ever want to forget the smell of Rue Cler in the mornings. Fresh bread, fruits and veggies, cheese, chicken roasting, flowers blooming - it really is unlike anything I've ever smelled before!
Looking out of a window in the Louvre, at another part of the museum!

Sounds heavenly! It makes me want to go to Europe so bad, it hurts! I'm so glad ya'll had a good time. The pictures are beautiful. Merci!
I must say that I'm totally jealous of your trip to Paris. I've always wanted to do Europe, and had a chance to this summer, but had to pass because of $$$. So I'm fully and completely jealous.
But, the pictures are awesome, and as steph said, it does sound heavenly. I'm happy for you guys.

I love that last picture of the tower. Incredible!
Looks like the new camera was worth every penny! Your pics are great!! (Of course, I'm sure it's not just the camera--the scenery is beatiful!) So happy for you to get to see all of those things. Would you have ever imagined...?
Love ya,
Nina
