Happy Anniversary!

Today, Patrick and I celebrate 4 years of marriage. Looking back, our fourth year was my favorite. It's been an emotional, exciting, adventurous, tear-filled year, but we've both grown so much because of it.

Something happened between us this year that I don't think either of us can comprehend or explain fully. Somewhere between having a miscarriage and being in Europe, we somehow sealed a solid bond with one another. We grew together in a way that just doesn't seem breakable. I don't think we've laughed together as much as we do now. I don't think we've ever communicated better than now (although there's always room for communication improvements!). I don't think we've ever felt love, true love like we do now. It's quite incredible. I'm so in love with this man, my husband, my best friend.

To celebrate our anniversary, we're heading up to Niagara Falls for the weekend. We opted to plan the weekend away together and enjoy things we both love to do. It's the last anniversary we have before children come along and we wanted to be sure we were able to really enjoy each other. I'm excited for our getaway together!

And just a note to my love:
Patrick, You are it. You always will be and always have been. I love spending my life with you. I love who I am with you. I love that I wouldn't be who I am without you. We make sense. We go together. I love that, too.

I know that things won't always be so peachy and there will be more hard years to come. More bad months and weeks, more confusion, more lack of communication. But we've made it this far. We've made it through things that are hard to talk about, things that we never thought we would experience in just four years of marriage. Here we are, still together, still in love, still forever.

Here's to many more. Dinkin Flicka, Babe.

I love you
Ashley

Ooh, Niagra - good times! Congrats, you two! You are proof that opposites make great marriages :) (And you still blow my theory that first borns should not marry each other...)
