Updating

Ok, now I'm getting impatient :) I want to hold my little baby in my arms and not carry him around in my belly! I'm told that as much as I want him out, I'll miss having him in there. I suppose that's true. These last few weeks have been the hardest part of pregnancy, even compared to the few issues we had in the beginning! Goodness!

I went to the doctor today and I am 3 cm dilated and 75% effaced. That's good news to me. Now, if I can just get myself into labor before next week :) I have to wonder, though, how exactly the doc can tell I'm at those numbers. I think it's a guess, but he has delivered over 5,000 babies. I'll take his word and hope for the best. I've been reading and scrap booking, I've been cleaning and walking. I take a lot of baths and sit in the glider. Just waiting, knowing that's all I can do.

ALSO - Patrick's co-workers threw him a surprise baby shower on Monday. How wonderful is that?! They all went together and bought us a glider and some outfits, plus a few baby essentials. Patrick told everyone he wasn't sure what to do because usually he just drops me off and comes back and I have presents. They said "OPEN THE GIFTS!" We have been so blessed by the generosity of our family and friends.

Ok. that's all. Just a random update to let you know that I'm still here, I'm still with child and I'm still impatient! Hopefully within the next few posts, I'll have some very exciting baby news!

HOORAY! You got a glider! How wonderful that will be to use to rock little Benjamin! Can you believe your "counter" is less than 10 days to go?! I know -- you wish it was 0, but he will arrive soon! Like you, we can hardly wait!

Ashley, I am so excited for you and Patrick. I can't believe you are only 8 days away from your due date! I know they say that you could walk around at 3cm for a while, but for me, it went very quickly. I was 4cm & 70% at week 37 and then by the next week I was 6cm & 90% -I went into labor that night! So you just never know. I'll be praying for you, Patrick and Benjamin. And hang in there, Benjamin will be here so soon! (and I don't think there was a day that I would have prefered Ava back in my stomach and not out in the world with us)
