Chek up

Today was Benjamin's 1 month doctors appointment. However, he is six weeks old. Better late than never :)

Here are his stats:
weight - 11lbs (90%)
height - 24 1/4 in (97%)
head - 15 in (50%)

Holy cow! My little tiny baby gained 3.5 pounds and grew 4 inches!! The doctor was very encouraging and said he looks great physically and developmentally (of course ::grin:: ). His frenulum is very close to the tip of this tongue, so I asked her to check it out. As suspected, Benjamin has the "tongue tie". But it's not affecting him negatively in any way, so we aren't too concerned!

I don't have any pictures from today (yet), but here are a few from the last few days. We've been enjoying the weather and walked to town yesterday and ran some errands. A quick book recommendation: Piggies, by Audrey Wood. She's one of my favorite authors of childrens books. She wrote The Napping House, which is on my top three favorite books for kids! I checked out a few of her books from the library yesterday (for Benjamin...ok and me) and LOVE "Piggies".

We are headed out to the farm and we're going to walk around and watch daddy plant trees. This will be Benjamin's first "get out of the car and look around" trip to the farm. Yeah!

Just hanging out in the bouncy chair... He loves it in here!
The quilt Cayla (and Carol, Beth, my mom, Al, Nina, Katie and Liz) made for Benajmain and me. How incredible is this!? Cayla - you're WONDERFUL!
Loving the tummy time boppy...
Look at those chubby cheecks!
Enjoying colors and noises...

He is a happy, healthy boy! I love the pictures and the quilt turned out really nice.

The Napping House sounds like a mother's fantasy. Is it a place where the mommy can go and nap unhindered by babies? Or is it a place where the mommy drops off the baby in the care of perfectly capable and trustworthy sitters so the baby naps and therefore the mommy can nap as well? Ahhh it feels good to dream... my goal for the second 6 months of Aveny's life is to get a full night of sleep at least once. Just once. Please, Lord... :)
