I liked today

Whether I like it or not, I just don't enjoy some days. That's realistic, I know, and would happen no matter what season of life I'm in. I try to enjoy something every day (even if it's only a cup of tea...I enjoy it!), but there are days when it's so hard to find just one thing.

Today, however, was a day that I enjoyed a lot of things. Benjamin was in a fairly decent mood and the weather was gorgeous. There is something so refreshing, so wonderful about nice weather after a very long winter! After I fed the little man this afternoon, we went for a long walk. I was very intent on going to Romeo's (a local restaurant) to get tiramisu. It's about a 20 minute walk and I didn't mind, so off we went! Benjamin and I ran into a friend and chatted for a bit and continued our walk. Finally, we got the tiramisu and headed back home. It was such a nice day for a walk and I even broke out in a little sweat. (which always makes me happy!)

Once we were home, Benjamin ate again and we played for a little while. I've found that if I put the boppy in the pack n play, he'll happily look around and make precious baby noises for about 15 minutes. I took some pictures (I can't help myself!) and then we read a book. Then it was nap time. Why put this cute little boy in his crib when we can snuggle and nap together?! So we did - for two hours!

Needless to say, today was easy to enjoy and I'm thankful for days that I'm not overwhelmed. Days like today make the hard days bearable and if I didn't have hard days, how could I so heartily enjoy good days? I don't expect tonight to go well, or tomorrow. I've learned to drop any expectations over the last 4 1/2 weeks :) I do know that whatever tonight and tomorrow bring there is surely a good day right around the corner!
