Thoughts on baby weight...

My weight has always been an issue for me. When I started working out and eating well, I really found something that I enjoyed and was passionate about. I love that the Lord has showed me this passion and that I can pursue it.

Before I got pregnant I was really comfortable with my body! For the first time in my life I liked my body, curves and all, and was grateful for what the Lord gave me. During pregnancy gaining weight and being able to work out was a huge struggle for me. Sure it was worth it, but it wasn't an easy journey. I was pleasantly surprised at how much weight you lose after a baby leaves your body.

I've been able to workout a little over the last week. Lifting weight, running and doing some ab work has been so good for me. Not only that, but lifting an 11 pound baby and carrying him around all day is great for the arms :) I know that my body isn't where it use to be, but every week I get a little closer. I know that my body may have changed permanently, but there is hope for smaller jeans yet!

My goal is to do a few races over the summer to get back into shape. I know I'm doing a 5k in August and I'm still looking into doing a few local 5 and 10k's. I'm really excited to watch my body change again, but this time get smaller :) Even though I gained 34 pounds while pregnant, I never reached the weight I was when I started working out a few years ago. I've lost 17 pounds and know that it's better that it comes off slowly. Breastfeeding helps and I'm very grateful for that!

This is leaving the hospital 2 days after giving birth. I can't believe I actually had a baby inside me :) I was so much smaller just 2 days later. Unbelievable!
One week after giving birth...
This is today. 6 1/2 weeks after giving birth and fitting into my size 10 jeans. My goal is my old size 6 jeans. Here's hoping :)

For good measure, here is a picture of Benjamin. This little man came out of my body! How incredible.

You look FANTASTIC! I gained a whopping 52 pounds with monster Kayden, and lost 62 in five months (and remember, I couldn't walk for the first two!) If I can do that, you can surely do 34 with all of your running! And yes, babies are GREAT for killer arm muscles! :) Keep it up, Momma!

You look wonderful!! And you will lose more weight after you are done breastfeeding...but don't let that make you stop any earlier!!

You'll get there, don't worry! And just for the record, you look great even now (although I know the deep desire to get back to your pre-pregnancy weight).
