Bless my soul.

Ugh. Last post of the day, I promise.

Tonight we were doing family worship and Patrick was reading the story of Jesus' crucifixion. In the Jesus Storybook Bible there is a very strong, but toned down {obviously} picture of Jesus on the cross.

Benjamin was babbling and kind of listening when he looked over at the picture. He looked at me and said, "What's that? What's wrong?" I explained that it was Jesus hanging on the cross and that he had been hurt by people who didn't love him. I pointed to Jesus' arms and said, "His arms hurt all over." To His head, "His head hurt." And then I looked at Benjamin and said, "Jesus had so many ouchies and hurt so much so He could die for all of our bad things."

Do you know that my sweet child looked at us and said, "I kiss Him."

He leaned in and kissed the picture. He wanted to make Jesus feel better. Something inside his heart knew that what we were telling him, what he was seeing wasn't okay.

I cried.

Little boy kisses can heal a great deal of wounds, I'm certain of it. My boy has such a beautiful, tender heart. I can't wait until He really falls in love with Jesus. I can't wait to see the faith of a child, my child, in action. Bless the Lord, O my soul!

I just can't forget moments like these, friends.
