Yes, I said Bunco.
There comes a time in a girl's life when she needs to branch out of the known, into a world of unknowns and embrace whatever comes her way. My so-called branching out into the unknown is playing a little game called Bunco. I'm not sure if I can explain it at all, since I've only played twice. All I can tell you is that there are 3 dice on a table, there are 3 tables and 12 ladies frantically rolling to get a "6" or even better 3 "6's"(which is "Bunco"). We play this game once a month. I don't know if we could make it through more than that.
It is simply a game of luck. However, I am beginning to believe that there is a way to strategically roll the dice to get all 6's, but I have yet to figure it out. The best part is the 12 screaming ladies. You see the best and the worst of people. Some are competitive, others not. Some play well with others, some not. :) I think I laugh more in this one night we get together than all other nights in the month. Oh goodness, the sight of us all. Intensely staring at whoever holds the dice, anxiety building as someone continually rolls a 6, eating chocolate as much as possible and throwing our heads back when we roll all 1's. Please know, the game of bunco was foreign to me until a couple of months ago. Now, I'm addicted. And no matter what, we are having so much fun rolling these silly dice.
Oh, I forgot to mention there are prizes involved. Yes, prizes. This may explain all the screaming when someone loses or the excitement when someone yells, "BUNCO!" I have to confess that I won a prize the very first time I played...for losing the most games. (thankyouverymuch!)
So, If you want to find me on the third Thursday of the month listen for the laughing, screaming and yelling women, I'll be there.
