What is that thing?

On a lighter note:
The other night, a large (understatement) bug flew into our house. This thing was locust, small bird, fly like. Patrick went to let Piper out and in came this...thing. Patrick yells, "Hey honey, there is a bug in here and I don't think you'll want to see it...you should probably go ahead and turn off the lights where you are." Oh, great. This sounds like a horror movie. This thing turns out to be an alien and grows at the sight of light. It eats us and no one ever figures out our disapperance. Ok, that's slightly dramatic.

So, I was intrigued. I went to the living room and hear this thing boucing off the walls and ceiling. It landed on our chair and we got a closer look. It was insane! Patrick kept saying, "what is this thing?" It was so funny. He was so perplexed by this monster.

I grabbed an umbrealla (always thinking, aren't I?) and swatted at this small monster. Patrick was watching it fly around and told me to grab the tennis rackets. So, Patrick is on one side of the living room with racket in hand. I am on the other side, racket in hand, but much futher away than my brave husband.

Finally, Patrick swings the racket and knocks the small monster to the ground. He scoops the thing in between both rackets so we can examine our intruder. Gross.

Patrick tossed the thing outside with the help of Piper. (who, I am sure, longed to toss this thing around himself. He patiently watched this whole ordeal from outside.) This thing was so big and so gross. I certainly hope that no one else has to deal with such a thing.
