Good times...

I've been staying with my mother-in-law at the lodge (what we call their house) for the last few days. She and Frank are selling their home with hopes to permanently stay on the farm, so we are here cleaning (and having too much girl time and snack time) and catching up on some TV.

Many funny things have happened over the last two days. For instance, we dyed my hair red last night. I've done this before, professionally, and it was very red. Same thing happened this time. So when we were getting ready for bed Carol said, "Are you ready for bed?" I said, "Red rhymes with bed." We then proceeded to rhyme through the alphabet with the word red..."bed, dead, fed, wed, led..." She stumbled upon the letter K and said, "Ked", as though it had meaning. I looked at her and said, "Ked? Ked. What do you ked? Are you kedding? Keds are shoes." We laughed for a bit. It was funny at the time. Maybe it's not as funny today. It could have been the dye that got to us.

We also went to the grocery store last night. We were hoping to get food for our stay here. As we were walking around the store, the worst things jumped into our cart: mini mint milanos, a cherry pie, frozen dinners...you get the picture. We also decided, before leaving, that we should get dessert to follow our late lunch we just had (before coming to the store). So, we got doughnuts. They were very good. And so was the pie, and the mint milanos. We're being so bad, but Carol says that every girl needs a few days to splurge once and a while. I heartily agree.

Also, it's a good thing that I've come to help clean because otherwise we would not have dusted. And dusting is all that we've done. :)
