Still training...

The triathlon is still (only) 3 months away. I feel like that's adequate time to really get in shape. I'm always amazed how much I can run on the treadmill, then I go outside to the track and I can barely make it around once! Obviously, the ground below isn't moving for me (like a treadmill), but surely all that running could prepare me for the real test.

I feel like I'm getting better at everything though. I've really been focusing on weight training, making sure to do it two or three times a week. I love weight training. Is that weird? I really enjoy the work out my body gets and I really like feeling my body work. I know that I'm accomplishing something because I've been able to use 15 pound weights for my arms rather than 10.

Swimming is getting better, although I've not been swimming as much as I should. I really like wearing the flippers because I feel like a motorboat with them on! I'm fast! But as soon as I take them off, I'm just slow swimmer Ashley again. Either way, it's good for me to be in the water and trying my best.

As for biking, I don't do it. I use the stationary bike about once a week, but there's nothing to it. I look forward to warmer weather so I can get on a real bike and really go somewhere. I do hope that I'm able to make it through the triathlon. This morning, I was finishing my 14th lap (in the water) and I thought, "How in the world am I going to bike for 14 miles and then run after this?" Normally, I try not to think about that and just keep going, but today I was exhausted!

Oh well. Still training. Still excited. Still hoping I make it through the whole race without any kind of trauma.

Why won't your blog let me leave a comment! It's quite agonizing.

If you get 4 comments saying the same thing, I'll be really embarrassed.

Anyways, I think you're awesome. Peace out

ha ha - it's not showing up bc you monitor comments, huh? Hmmm. That's a good idea.

I'm a big dummy.

Don't approve all my messages unless you think it's funny. :)
