Patrick is at the Advance 09 conference in Durham, NC. He and our friend, Scott, went together. Since we're doing the home church, it's an incredible opportunity for them to learn more about the local church. We're praying for God to reveal Himself to Patrick and Scott and that they will see God's vision for our little home church. I told Patrick to high five John Piper for me and then to give Mark Driscoll a "pound up". I just felt like Mark Driscoll was more of a pound up kind of guy. Also, they went to a baseball game last night and it was dollar hot dog night. Score for them. However, there was a tornado watch. Bummer. Nothing more American than eating hot dogs while watching a baseball game with one eye and a tornado roll in with the other :)
Benjamin and I went to Greensburg (a bigger city about 45 minutes away) yesterday with our new friends, Meghan and Dylan. We met Meghan and her husband in our lamaze class in Decemeber and ran into each other a few weeks ago. Her son is 3 weeks older than Benjamin, so it's nice to have a new first time mommy friend. It was a great day and it was so nice to not be alone all day. Plus, we ate Chick-Fil-A for lunch.
Also, I got a great pair of jeans from Ann Taylor Loft. Not only do they look good, they were $20! ATL is pretty much one of my top three favorite stores. The sales there are great and I can just see me in all of the clothes hanging in the store. Ah. It was nice to go shopping and really feel confident and comfortable in something I tried on. What a priceless gift and kindness from the Lord!
I suppose that's enough randomness for now. There are some posts brewing in my head on Patience, Learning fine lines and trying to figure out how to be a wife and a mommy. Those will come in due time. Until then - here are some pictures of ways that some people may think we abuse our child, but really we're just trying to make him well rounded (no pun intended on his chubbiness!)
