Christmas 2009, take 1

If you've been reading my blog for a while then you know Patrick and I celebrate Christmas together before we travel to wherever it is we are going. This year was no different. Well, except we had a baby to join in on the fun!

Benjamin opened his presents first and didn't really get it. Not that I thought he would. He did love the paper and enjoyed chewing on whatever he could get into his mouth :) We got him a book, a set of wooden blocks and a few balls. He has already enjoyed chewing on all of the above.

He needed a little help :)

Patrick was next. He was so hard to buy for this year. There was nothing he really wanted and made that pretty clear. I searched my (slow and incoherent momma) brain for a few ideas. He ended up getting a few books on John Calvin, a pair of fuzzy pj pants and a thing for his ipod that he can use in the car. He was excited and therefore I was excited :)
(note Benjamin eating everything in sight..)

My turn came around and I had three presents. A big one, a medium size one and a tiny one. Hum. I opened them, only to find an ESPRESSO MACHINE, a new (awesome) grinder, and a little milk steaming pitcher. What?! I was so excited. It's something I've wanted for awhile, but I would never save up for it and buy it. Did I mention I was beyond surprised and spend several minutes with my mouth hanging open. Wow. Patrick and I played with it for about an hour. Luckily, I know how to make drinks since I worked at the Commonplace for a while. If you want a latte, come on over!

That's all for now. Meanwhile, we'll be spending our Christmas here. Deep Creek Christmas Extravaganza has begun!
And as an added bonus, here is Benjamin playing with a box yesterday. He was quite content and I'm not sure what I even buy things for him when he is satisfied with a cardboard box. Oh well.
My crawling, cute and incredibly curious 9 month old!
