Mom update

Thank you all so much for your prayers and encouragement! My mom is home and doing well. Her surgery went well and the doctor got all of the tumor, along with 18 inches of her intestine. I'm glad that our intestines are so long! :)

After looking over her pathology report, the doctor found that half of the lymph nodes they removed for testing were cancerous. This means she'll have to do chemo. But that's about all we know on this for now. Please be praying for my mom as she deals with having to do chemo, work and care for her family.

It's been one week today since her surgery. I'm so glad that it's over and done with. And she is as well. Her recovery is far from over. She'll be off of work for about four more weeks and then, I'm guessing, they'll start the chemo. What a summer for my mom! She is such a champ, though. She's so courageous and I'm so proud of her for fighting cancer and going through this trial with a smile!

I'm so thankful for an all-knowing God. He knew this would happen. He is not surprised. He is an incredible care giver and comforter. And the Lord has been so kind as to answer prayers: He comforted my mom. He allowed the doctors to remove the whole tumor. The surgery went smoothly. Her recovery has been good.

What an honor to seek the Lord through this unfortunate circumstance and what a privilege to see His hand at work.
