The sufferings of Christ

I have recently decided to study the sufferings of Christ. Not only to I feel as though I will be more appreciative of His redemptive work on the cross, but I think I will be able to more closely relate to Christ. I do want to know Him more, especially since this season of my life is rather difficult. However, even through trials and suffering there is much joy to be found in Christ. I was reading a book the other day that described loving Christ as experiencing the "holiest joy" possible. I want that.

In the same book, the author shared this quote from A. Naismith:
"We see in the Pentateuch the figures of the sufferings of Christ;
We see in the Psalms the feelings of the suffering of Christ;
We see in the Prophets the forecasts of the sufferings of Christ;
We see in the Gospels the facts of the sufferings of Christ;
We see in the Epistles the fruits of the sufferings of Christ;
We see in the Book of Revelation the fulfillment of the sufferings of Christ and the Glory that should follow."

I want to find these, meditate on these and know Christ in all His fullness. There is always so much to learn, so much to know and I know it won't be until heaven that I can know so much more, but I trust this: "...Those who seek the LORD understand all things." Proverbs 28:5 As I seek the Lord, I am confident that He will reveal Himself to me and I will gain understanding of all that He desires me to know right now. I am humbled at the thought. Praise Him.
