To clean, or not to clean....

I truly love cleaning. There is certainly a great sense of accomplishment when I step back and gaze happily at my fresh, clean kitchen (bathroom, bedroom, etc). I've recently been making my own cleaning products. I have a book called "Clean Green" and it has some great recipes for "green", or all natural, cleaning. I love being able to use cleaning products that are safe and smell great. Plus, they are super cheap! What a great way to take care of my family.

Here is my issue today: it's raining and I need to do laundry. Normally, I would love doing laundry. I really, honestly, love my washer and dryer. They are so wonderful. I got them for Valentine's Day 2005. (By far my biggest Valentine's Day present ::grin::) The problem here rests mostly in the fact that my wonderful washer and dryer are located in a storage unit...with several boxes on top of them. In fact, I believe that our lawn mower is on top of them, too. The other past of this problem is that it's a rainy day. A day meant for reading and sipping coffee, not trudging through puddles and laundry backets in hand.

With all of this said, my current situation means that I must drive to the laundry mat and spend roughly $12.00 to do this weeks laundry. Oh, I wish I loved doing this! But I don't. Loading up the car, unloading the car, folding on demand, loading laundry, unloading laundry, folding, load up the car, unload the car, put clothes away. Doesn't that sound daunting to you too?
I am praying for a diligent heart. I wonder if diligent means that I must also enjoy what I'm doing. I don't think it does. Therefore, I'll suck it up and get going. I know that I don't like this part of my job right now, but I am still seeking the serve the Lord. To me, that means that I must go to the laundry mat and do my laundry with an attitude of humility (which is quite easy in this given situation), praise and gratitude. I want to look well to the ways of my household and serve the Lord with excellence. Learning to be a godly woman proves to be more and more beyond myself everyday.

Forget it! i HATE doing laundry. HATE IT! I'll do it, sometimes efficiently, but I will not pretend to enjoy it.

glad it doesn't bother you as much.

I think a good bit of my dislike for it less to do with the actual task and more to do with having to do it with 2 destoyers under foot.
