Flat Brianna

The other day, I received a large envelope in the mail. It was from my niece, Brianna. I was confused at what it may be, but was pleasantly surprised when I opened it! Her 3rd grade class just read Flat Stanley. It's a children's book about a boy, Stanley, who gets flattened by a bulletin board and sent to his friend in California. The each student in Bri's class were to pick someone they wanted to visit and go on an adventure with. Brianna chose me!

I am suppose to take Bri on adventures with me and document the outing with pictures, postcards, etc. When you're done, you write a letter to her so she can share with the class. So, I started our adventure by doing some things I normally do. I thought it would be fun to share with everyone! What a neat class project! Here is what we did today:

Swimming at the YMCA

And story/craft time at the library this morning. I volunteer on Wednesday mornings, so I thought it would be great to take "her" along and then be able to write to Bri about the importance of helping others by volunteering. Also, everyone really liked having Bri there today!

Story time

I am coming up with tons of ideas and fun things to do with "Flat Bri" before I have to send her back. I'm really glad she chose me, I'm having a lot of fun taking her on my daily adventures!

How nice! I think that Brianna picked just the right person to help her out.
