Operation Get House Ready for a Baby:
Option 1: Fix up the attic, insert a dormer, redo electric, put guest bedroom up there and use the current guest room as nursery. Keeping office where it is. Install new carpet.
Spoiler: This costs an incredible amount of money. Also, it's against PA state law to have a bedroom in the attic without a fire escape. The windows are really small. And we don't want to put in a fire escape. And I went around to a few places to price carpet and it is not cheap.
Option 2: Figure out a new plan.
So we're going with option 2. It looks like this, currently:
Rip up carpet and re-finish hardwood floors (because they are under there and happy and beautiful and I love hardwood floors!!!); Install an air circulating system in the attic and move all my craft things and some of the office up there; keep the guest room as is; make the office the nursery; put Patrick's computer downstairs with mine and work it out somehow.
Yes, we've got big plans. Yes, we've got great friends to help us. Yes, I've got an incredibly handy husband that is capable of doing all sorts of home projects. And so, why wait? I fell asleep on the couch and woke up to pounding. The following pictures are what we've been working on for the last three hours....
The first glimpse at hardwood!
I'll keep you updated on this new project!

Hey lovely! I am so joyful for you and the many blessings God has and continues to pour on your life! I love reading your blog and all the honesty included.
P.S. You should try Lindt milk chocolate candy bars...oh so good and I think it might fit your 'perfect' chocolate description perfectly! :)
I love hardwood floors! We're lucky enough to have them in our apartment right now. Can't wait to see the finished product!
Also -- count your blessings for having such a handy husband! :)
Hooray for chocolate! Oh, and your plans for the house sound neat, too. :-)
Yes, I've never understood the big deal about dark chocolate. I'll take Dove Milk Chocolate any day.
Jeannie, Lets be honest though. You don't even like pot roast. :)
Dark chocolate rules!
P
gotta love the chocolate icing, I've been eating it too! Sometimes I'll get the walmart brand and I've found that if I put it in the microwave, it tastes just like fudge and I love it over vanilla icecream... pregnancy cravings are great.
I'm excited to see how the new nursery turns out, it looks like you already have a great start. Good luck with it all.
Amazing!! The floors are going to look great! I'm glad that you got your chocolate thing back,::grin::
Love you!!
