Just another day in Edmond...

Our days are pretty routine around here, as it goes with a toddler. I love it. Even more, I love having Benjamin around to entertain me. He keeps me busy, he makes me laugh, he makes me cry, he makes me pray (a lot) and he always keeps me guessing. Here are some pictures of our everyday life:

This is our front yard during Mondays storm. It stormed here for about 6 hours and then it was a little more scattered after that. OKC was flooded and is still recovering. Our yard was a small lake, but is now dry. Good thing that grass loves water :) I'm not sure if you can tell by the picture, but the water was up to the step and went out to the tree. This was just our front yard. The back was worse. Crazy.

This is what my baby looks like when he looked out the window to watch the rain and storm. He also loves that duck. I love this picture.
This is what B looks like when he plays daddy's piano in his pj's. Adorable, obviously!
These guys are looooved by B. It's a recent obsession, but they are necessary. This particular morning he was not pleased that they (and they being: Panda, duck-duck and giraffe) had to watch him eat breakfast from the table. After enough coaxing, duck-duck was allowed to sit in the high chair with him.
See, he loves them.
Another thing he loves? My rain boots. Can you see his cup sitting in the boot? This is after he tossed it in there once before and he got stuck (with both arms in the boot, up to his shoulders) trying to get it out. He's a boy. They don't learn lessons by trial and error. They just keep trying. I find an array of things in my boots if I leave them out too long.
This was after we got out of the pool. He did not want to come in and gave me this terribly pathetic look. He still had to come in, I don't cave that easily.
You know, drinking (and choking on) water table water. Apparently it's good. Flavored with dirt, rocks, toys and Piper saliva. Yum!
Um, I get this look fairly often. By B and by Patrick. It's the same look. They have the same face. He may look like his daddy, but - boy oh boy- he acts like his momma! This is proving challenging already. I don't even want to think about the days to come. One day at a time, my friends.
Sitting on the blanket. Once a day, I'll lay out a blanket and put a few things on it for him to play. He usually brings along a few other things, but he generally does very well at sitting here and playing. I like to sit with him and we read books (because this boy LOVES books). In fact, if I leave it laying out he'll go and sit on it by himself while I'm making dinner.
Ah, little peeks in our daily life. Don't you feel like your our neighbors now?
