We'll see...

You know what I think is funny about Oklahoma? The weather. When we were house hunting our realtor kept saying, "If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes." I didn't really think it was true.

After living here for (almost) 10 months I can honestly tell you that this is a very true statement. In fact, Friday and Saturday were both so gorgeous that I had my windows open and it was 75 degrees. Today, however, we're preparing for "SNOWMAGEDON 2011". I'm being serious. (Just watch our news channels!)

We're expected to get something like 6-12 inches of snow. Plus strong wind, blowing snow and freezing temps. Oklahoma is taking part in the huge storm moving across the country. I'm pretty excited. I love snow storms. But here's the thing: Oklahoma isn't prepared for things like this (compared to Michigan or Illinois) so I'm a little concerned to see how it all goes down.

But being a good Edmond resident, I did my part by going to the grocery store yesterday and stocking up. And by stocking up I mean I got groceries for the week. :) Maybe I should go back to the store tonight and buy something really fun to make for a snack tomorrow. Also, I purchased salt (you know, melt the ice stuff) and a snow shovel today. The shovel that I purchased was the one of the last two in the store. It's crazy around here. I even went to Chick-fil-a for lunch since I wouldn't be leaving the house for days.

I think it's all funny. If we really get snow, awesome. If not, well, at this point I'd be a little disappointed! But either way, I bet if we wait a few minutes it will get warm again. It is Oklahoma, people! Hot then cold, cold then hot. An added bonus of this snow is something wet on the ground. We haven't had rain in so long that we're in a drought! But wait, tornado season is almost here...I bet we'll get a little rain then. Just wait five minutes. You'll see.
